- Prepare the vehicle: Park the vehicle on a hard, level, and stable surface. Engage the parking brake and place the transmission in "park" (for automatic) or a low gear (for manual). Use wheel chocks on the wheels not being lifted to prevent any movement.
- Determine support points: Consult the vehicle's owner's manual or service guide to locate the recommended support points or frame areas for using jack stands.
- Lift the vehicle: Using an appropriate jack with adequate capacity, carefully lift the vehicle to a height slightly above the desired support height for the jack stand.
- Position the stand: Place the American Forge & Foundry 22-Ton Pin-Style Safety Stand (6522) directly under the designated support point. Ensure the V-shaped saddle is centered on the load-bearing area. Remember to use two stands for supporting one end of the vehicle.
- Adjust height: Pull and secure the tethered height adjustment pin, then adjust the stand to the desired height position (12", 15", 18", or 20"). Reinsert the pin fully through both sides of the stand's column and the inner tube to lock the height.
- Lower onto stands: Slowly and carefully lower the vehicle onto the positioned jack stands, ensuring the load settles securely into the V-saddle.
