    • Attach the Locking Pliers: Clamp the locking pliers to a stable part of the vehicle's suspension or brake assembly, positioning the mounting block for the dial indicator.
    • Mount the Dial Indicator: Attach the dial indicator to the mounting block on the locking pliers.
    • Position the Flex Arm: If needed, attach the flex arm to the dial indicator to achieve the desired position for measurement.
    • Contact the Rotor: Carefully position the dial indicator's tip against the brake rotor's surface.
    • Zero the Indicator: Rotate the rotor slightly and adjust the dial indicator to zero.
    • Measure Run-Out: Slowly rotate the rotor a full revolution, observing the dial indicator's readings. The total indicator movement represents the rotor run-out.
    • Compare to Specifications: Consult the vehicle's service manual for the acceptable run-out limits.
