This Nitro construction reamer features a tapered point with a black and gold surface treatment that forms a hard protective layer, increasing hardness without brittleness while providing maximum lubricity. The spiral flute design ensures efficient chip removal, reduces heat buildup, and produces precise, clean hole enlargements. Made from premium-grade cobalt high-speed steel (HSS), it can drill harder materials approximately 30% faster than standard HSS. The self-centering 135° split-point reduces walking and lowers thrust for controlled cutting, while the shorter screw-machine length adds rigidity to minimize breakage. The 3-flats reduced shank provides a secure, slip-free grip in the chuck.
