HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the area you intend to bond or repair is clean, completely dry, and free from any dirt or debris. For optimal adhesion, gently roughen the surface before applying the adhesive.
- Open the Tube: Puncture the protective seal located in the neck of the adhesive tube using the pointed end of the cap.
- Apply Adhesive: Apply the Amazing GOOP Plumbing adhesive directly onto each of the surfaces you wish to bond or repair.
- Allow Partial Cure: After applying, allow the adhesive to partially cure for approximately 2 minutes before bringing the two surfaces together.
- Mate Surfaces: Carefully place the adhesive-coated surfaces into contact with each other. Apply sufficient pressure to ensure full and secure contact between the bonded items. Note that once surfaces are in contact, the immediate bond makes repositioning difficult.
- Allow Full Cure: Allow the repair to cure for a minimum of 24 hours. Depending on the specific materials and the ambient temperature, the adhesive may take up to 48 to 72 hours to achieve its maximum strength.
- Cap Maintenance: For easier removal of the cap in the future, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the threads of the tube before securely replacing the cap.
- Clean Up: If there is any uncured adhesive, it can be cleaned using acetone or citrus-based solvents. Once the adhesive has fully cured, it can only be removed by cutting or scraping.
