HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the area to be bonded or repaired is clean, completely dry, and free from any dirt or debris. For a stronger bond, it's recommended to lightly roughen the surface before applying the adhesive.
- Open the Tube: Puncture the seal at the neck of the tube using the pointed cap. Make sure the product is used in an environment where the temperature is between 50°F and 90°F (10°C and 32°C).
- Apply the Adhesive: Apply the adhesive directly and evenly to each of the surfaces you intend to bond or repair.
- Allow Partial Cure: Let the adhesive partially cure for approximately 2 minutes before bringing the two surfaces together. This allows for optimal tackiness.
- Mate Surfaces: Once partially cured, firmly press the adhesive-coated surfaces together. Amazing GOOP Marine forms an immediate bond that is difficult to reposition after full contact and pressure.
- Cure Time: Allow the repair to cure for at least 24 hours. For maximum strength, especially depending on the materials and ambient temperature, the bond may require 48 to 72 hours to fully set.
- Cap Maintenance: To prevent the cap from sticking and ensure easy removal for future uses, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the threads of the tube before replacing the cap.
- Cleaning: If you need to clean uncured adhesive, use acetone or citrus-based solvents. Once cured, the material can be removed by cutting or scraping.
