HOW TO USE:

1. Preparation: Secure the workpiece in a vise or clamp. Ensure the end to be threaded is clean, free of burrs, and chamfered slightly to guide the die.
2. Mount the Die: Insert the Irwin 6540 die into a hexagon die stock. Alternatively, use a properly sized wrench or socket for tight spaces.
3. Start the Thread: Place the die squarely on the workpiece end. Apply downward pressure and turn clockwise to begin cutting the thread, keeping the die aligned.
4. Cutting: Continue turning clockwise. After every full or two turns, turn the die half-turn counter-clockwise to break chips and clear threads.
5. Finish: Repeat forward and backward motion until desired thread length is reached. Reverse the die completely to remove it.
