HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the Material: Thoroughly mix your primer or high-viscosity coating according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure it is strained to remove any impurities that could clog the gun.
- Fill the Cup: Pour the prepared material into the 600ml plastic cup. Securely attach the cup to the spray gun.
- Connect Air Supply: Connect the air hose from your compressor to the air inlet at the bottom of the spray gun. Ensure the compressor is set to the recommended operating pressure of 16 PSI at the gun.
- Adjust Settings:
Fluid Knob: Turn the fluid knob (usually at the back of the gun) to control the amount of material flowing through the nozzle. Start with it fully open and adjust as needed.
Fan Pattern Knob: Adjust the fan pattern knob (usually on the side) to change the width of your spray pattern. For the Iwata LPH400, the pattern width can be up to 12.6 inches.
Air Cap: Ensure the air cap is clean and securely tightened. - Test Spray: Before applying to your actual workpiece, perform a test spray on a piece of scrap material to check the pattern, atomization, and fluid output. Adjust settings until the desired result is achieved.
- Apply Coating: Hold the gun perpendicular to the surface, maintaining a consistent distance. Overlap each pass by approximately 50% to ensure even coverage. Release the trigger at the end of each pass.
- Clean Up: Immediately after use, thoroughly clean the spray gun. Disassemble the air cap and fluid nozzle, cleaning all parts with appropriate solvents. Flush the fluid passage with solvent and clean the cup. Proper cleaning prevents material buildup and ensures the gun's longevity.
