HOW TO USE:
- Prepare the Vehicle: Safely lift and support the vehicle using jack stands. Remove the wheel to access the brake caliper.
- Access the Caliper: If necessary, remove the caliper mounting bolts and carefully detach the caliper from the rotor, allowing it to hang freely or rest on a suitable support (do not let it hang by the brake hose).
- Position the Tool: Place the Lang Tools Small Brake Caliper Press (277) over the brake piston. Ensure the two arms of the tool are positioned against the piston face and the opposite side of the caliper housing (or an old brake pad if still present).
- Retract the Piston: Turn the centrally located Acme threaded screw clockwise. As you turn the screw, the arms of the tool will expand, gradually pushing the brake piston back into its bore. Continue turning until the piston is fully retracted.
- Remove the Tool: Once the piston is fully retracted, turn the screw counter-clockwise to relieve tension and remove the tool from the caliper.
- Complete Brake Service: Install new brake pads and reassemble the brake system according to vehicle manufacturer specifications.
