HOW TO USE:
- Safety First: Ensure the vehicle engine is off and cool. Relieve any residual fuel pressure from the system according to the vehicle manufacturer's service manual to prevent fuel spray. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses.
- Identify Test Point: Locate the appropriate fuel pressure test port or point in the fuel system as specified by the vehicle service manual. This is often a Schrader valve or a point where a fuel line can be safely interrupted.
- Select Adapter: Consult the kit's adapter guidebook and select the correct adapter(s) for the vehicle's specific fuel system connection. The kit includes various banjo bolts, quick connects, Schrader, and specialized adapters.
- Connect Gauge: Attach the chosen adapter(s) to the fuel system test point. Connect the main test hose and valve assembly to the adapter, ensuring a secure, leak-free connection. Then, connect the test gauge assembly (M91) to the test hose.
- Perform Test: Following the vehicle manufacturer's diagnostic procedures, start the engine (if required for the test) or cycle the ignition to pressurize the fuel system. Observe the fuel pressure reading on the gauge.
- Interpret Results: Compare the observed fuel pressure reading to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. Deviations from the specified range can indicate issues such as a weak fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, restricted fuel lines, faulty fuel pressure regulator, or leaking injectors.
- Relieve Pressure & Disconnect: After the test, carefully relieve fuel pressure from the system using the kit's relief valve or following vehicle-specific procedures. Once pressure is relieved, disconnect the gauge and adapters.
- Clean & Store: Clean any spilled fuel promptly. Store all components back in the labeled compartments of the blow-molded case for future use.
