Lathe Chucks

Lathe Chucks for Precision Workholding

Lathe chucks mount to the spindle to hold and center the workpiece during turning, one of the most-used pieces of workholding on any metal lathe. Self-centering three-jaw versions grip round stock quickly, while four-jaw versions let each jaw move independently for square or off-center pieces. Sizes span 3 to 16 inches, with camlock, D1 taper, front mount, and 5C mounting options. For longer stock that needs extra support at the tailstock end, lathe centers keep the far end running true.

Front mount chucks include two extra jaw sets for a wider working range, and a dividing plate and clamping kit adds indexing for evenly spaced cuts. Once turning is done, lathe mandrels hold finished parts from the inside without marring the surface. Lathe tooling handles the actual cutting once the chuck has the workpiece secured.
