HOW TO USE:
- Inspect: Before starting, carefully inspect the ReadyTrace cable for any signs of damage.
- Ensure GFCI Protection: Confirm that the electrical circuit you intend to use is GFCI-protected. If not, an inline GFCI option is available from ReadyTrace.
- Position Cable: Carefully position the heat trace cable along the pipe, in the gutter, or on the roof area requiring protection. Ensure it is laid out smoothly without kinking or sharp bends.
- Secure Cable: Secure the cable to the desired surface using appropriate non-metallic fasteners. For pipes, use approved tapes (e.g., glass tape or aluminum foil over the entire length). Do not use metal straps or wire.
- Plug In: Once properly installed and secured, plug the lighted NEMA 5-15 plug into the GFCI-protected electrical outlet. The plug will illuminate when the cable is receiving power and operating.
- Monitor (Optional): If using a ReadyTrace temperature controller (sold separately), connect it as per its instructions to manage the heating more precisely.
