HOW TO USE:
- Mount the Gauge: Secure the tachometer in a suitable location on your dashboard or instrument panel using the included mounting ring. Ensure the 3.3-inch (84mm) hole is appropriately sized.
- Connect the Power and Lighting Harness: Attach the 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness to the designated terminals on the back of the tachometer. Connect the power wire (typically red) to a switched 12V source, the ground wire (typically black) to a suitable ground point, and the lighting wire (often orange or similar) to your vehicle's lighting circuit if you desire backlighting.
- Connect the Tachometer Signal Harness: Connect the 8 ft Tachometer Harness to the designated signal terminal on the back of the tachometer. The other end of this harness needs to be connected to a reliable tachometer signal source in your vehicle. For standard spark plug ignition systems, this often involves connecting to the negative (-) side of the ignition coil or a designated tachometer output from your vehicle's ECU (refer to your vehicle's wiring diagram for the correct connection point).
- Secure Wiring: Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent shorts or loose connections. Route the harnesses neatly and away from any moving parts or heat sources.
- Test the Gauge: Start your vehicle and observe the tachometer's reading. Verify that the RPM displayed corresponds to the engine speed. Check the backlighting if you connected it to the lighting circuit.
