HOW TO USE:
- Preparation: Identify a suitable 3.95" (100mm) diameter location on your vehicle's dashboard for mounting the tachometer. Ensure there is sufficient clearance behind the mounting surface for the gauge housing and wiring.
- Mounting: Insert the Speedhut 4" 10K RPM Tachometer into the prepared opening. Secure it from the rear using the included gauge mounting ring, tightening it until the gauge is firmly in place.
- Wiring - Power and Lighting: Connect the 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness. Typically, this will involve connecting a wire to a 12V power source that is switched with the ignition, a wire to ground, and a wire to your vehicle's lighting circuit if you desire the gauge to illuminate with your headlights. Refer to your vehicle's wiring diagram and the Speedhut harness documentation for specific color-coding and connections.
- Wiring - Tachometer Signal: Connect the 8 ft Tachometer Harness. This harness will connect to the tachometer signal source, which is typically a negative (-) terminal on your ignition coil or a designated tachometer output from your engine control unit (ECU), depending on your vehicle's system. Consult your vehicle's service manual for the correct tachometer signal wire location.
- Testing: Once all wiring is complete and secure, start your vehicle. Observe the tachometer to ensure it is receiving a signal and displaying the engine's RPM accurately as the engine speed changes. Verify the LED illumination functions correctly when the vehicle's lights are turned on.
