HOW TO USE:
- Mount the Speedbox: Choose a suitable location in your vehicle (dashboard or under the hood) and securely mount the Speedbox unit.
- Connect the Speedometer Cable: Thread the M18-1.5 end of the included 3-foot cable onto the back of your Volkswagen or BMW mechanical speedometer. Connect the other end of the cable to the output drive of the Speedbox unit.
- Install the GPS Antenna (Optional): Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky, using its magnetic base. Connect the antenna cable to the designated port on the Speedbox.
- Connect Power and Ground: Connect the red wire from the included power harness to a 12-volt power source in your vehicle. Connect the black wire to a suitable ground point.
- Connect VSS Signal (Optional): If you wish to use a Vehicle Speed Sensor, connect the VSS output wire from your vehicle's transmission or ECU to the designated VSS input wire on the Speedbox harness. Consult your vehicle's wiring diagram for the VSS signal location.
- Calibration:
- GPS: With the GPS antenna connected and a clear signal, the Speedbox will automatically calibrate itself as you drive.
- VSS: Use the default setting (1000 turns per mile) or manually calibrate by driving a measured mile following the Speedbox's calibration procedure (see manual).
- Verify Operation: Start your vehicle and observe the speedometer to ensure it functions correctly and displays accurate speed readings.
