- Position the Float Switch: Carefully place the 'Sludge Boss' float switch inside the basin or tank. Ensure the float switch can move freely without obstruction throughout the expected range of water levels. Use the provided wire ties to secure the float switch cable to a discharge pipe or other fixed object at the desired activation point for the high water alarm.
- Plug in the Power: Connect the 6-foot, 3-prong grounded plug of the Sump Alarm into a standard 120V AC power outlet. The white LED pilot light will illuminate, indicating that the unit has power.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the instructions provided in the product manual or on the manufacturer's website (SumpAlarm.com) to connect the device to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Set Up Notifications: Once connected to Wi-Fi, register your device and configure your desired notification settings through the manufacturer's platform. Add up to five email addresses for free alerts or explore the subscription options for text and phone call notifications.
- Test the Alarm: Manually raise the float switch to simulate a high water level. The red LED should flash, the 90dB horn should sound, and you should receive an email notification (and text/call if those services are enabled). Lower the float to confirm the alarm stops.
