HOW TO USE:

1. Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean and freshly sanded. Remove all contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, and old coatings. Sand until a clean surface is achieved. For steel or aluminum boats, sand or clean with steel wool and treat with a marine phosphoric acid wash (like Naval Jelly or Aluminum Bright) to remove rust or oxidation. Fill any large gouges or deep holes with an epoxy or fairing compound before applying Coat-It. The product can be applied to dry or porous surfaces.
2. Mixing: Stir Part A of Coat-It until it has a uniform consistency. Pour the entire contents of Part B into the Part A container. Mix the entire contents thoroughly for 6-7 minutes using a fold-into-center motion, occasionally scraping the bottom and sides of the container and the mixing stick. This thorough mixing is crucial for proper results.
3. Application: Immediately pour the mixed material onto your working surface; do not leave it in the original container. Apply the mixture using a toothed trowel, squeegee, a short bristle throw-away brush, or a foam roller. You have approximately 30 minutes of working time with the mixed material.
4. Curing: Allow the applied Coat-It to cure for approximately 10-12 hours at 70°F (21°C). Note that cure time decreases with higher temperatures, and thicker coats tend to cure faster than thin ones.
5. Second Coat (Optional) & Finishing: If a second coat is desired, apply it after the initial 10-12 hour cure period. For maximum ultraviolet protection, allow Coat-It to cure thoroughly, then lightly sand the surface and apply a good grade of marine paint. Clean your tools immediately after use with acetone or lacquer thinner.
