HOW TO USE:
- Power On: Insert a 9-volt battery into the meter and press the ON/HOLD button to turn it on.
- Select Species: Use the up and down arrow buttons to select the appropriate wood species setting from the Species Settings Booklet or the Common Flooring Materials Settings Reference Card. For relative measurements, select the "REL" setting.
- Choose Measurement Depth: Press the DEPTH button to toggle between shallow (0.25") and deep (0.75") scan modes.
- Calibrate (If Necessary): Place the On-Demand Calibrator on a flat surface, then place the scanning area of the Orion 940 onto it and press the ON/HOLD button until "CAL" appears on the display.
- Take Measurement: Place the scanning area firmly against the wood or material you want to measure, ensuring no air gaps.
- Read Measurement: The moisture content reading will be displayed on the screen.
- Hold Reading (Optional): Press the ON/HOLD button to freeze the reading on the display.
- Store Reading (Optional): To store a reading manually, press the STORE button. For automatic storage, refer to the instruction manual.
- Power Off: The meter will automatically power off after 60 seconds of inactivity, or manually turn it off by pressing and holding the ON/HOLD button.
